The roseprophet process

The experience in my studio

My journey in tattooing began in 2017. Although some time has passed, the values I started with remain the same. I’ve always aimed to offer a personalized experience, and over time, I’ve refined that approach. These days, I work alongside my assistant Bárbara, who is like a second version of myself. She handles your request via email, is fully available to answer any questions, provides quotes, and schedules your appointment.

I remain fully focused on the creative and technical process of your tattoo. When you step into my studio, located in Anjos, Lisbon, you’ll find a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere—just like being at home. My goal is to get to know you and hear your idea so we can create something truly unique together. Our conversation will be the starting point for the design.

Unlike what’s common in the tattoo world, I don’t work with pre-made designs or advanced digital tools. Just a sheet of paper, a pencil, and an eraser are enough for me to begin. The stencil is also done by hand. I believe this approach results in something more human and authentic.

Whether it’s fine lines or shading, my tattoos tend to be light on the skin. Once the design is approved, we apply the stencil, allowing you to visualize the tattoo on your body before it’s done. This moment is key, as it helps us find the ideal placement for your tattoo—with your input and my guidance.

When it’s time for the tattoo, the goal is for you to feel at ease. The pain is minimal, and for many, the process is actually relaxing. The studio’s atmosphere also contributes to a calm and cozy experience. In the end, what remains is the memory of a great moment and a beautiful tattoo on your skin.

Personalization

From your first message to the final stages of healing, the focus is always on you—your story, your tattoo, your experience. Each piece is created to be truly yours, and the entire journey is designed to feel meaningful and unique.

Credibility

With 8 years of experience and over 5,000 tattoos created, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless people who left the studio not just with a tattoo, but with trust and satisfaction.

Art

What you’ll carry on your skin is the result of a shared artistic process—where your motivations and intentions meet my ability to interpret and express through fine, meaningful work.

FAQ

Moisturize your skin with a good hydrating cream or vaseline daily for at least one week before your tattoo session. Well-hydrated skin helps achieve better results.

1. First Days – Protection with Film
At the end of the tattoo session, a protective film will be applied.
Keep the film on for the first three days.
If the film comes off early or you notice signs of an allergic reaction (such as intense redness and/or a burning sensation), contact us immediately.

2. Tattoo Cleaning
After removing the film, follow these cleaning guidelines:
Wash the area twice a day (morning and evening) during the first week. After that, you can wash it normally during your shower.
Use cold or lukewarm water and a neutral soap (fragrance-free and alcohol-free).
Wash only with clean hands, do not scrub.
Dry gently using a clean towel or absorbent paper, dabbing lightly.
Apply a thin layer of moisturizing cream – Nivea Milk is a good option.
Avoid harsh shower gels or soaps during the first two weeks.

3. Skin Hydration and Protection
Keeping the tattoo hydrated is essential. Use a simple cream without many additives (e.g., Nivea Milk).
Always apply a thin layer, just enough to hydrate the skin and avoid clogging pores.
Sunscreen should only be applied after 15 days.

4. What to Avoid in the First Few Weeks
Direct running water and submersion: Avoid soaking the tattooed area, swimming pools, the sea, and/or saunas for two weeks.
Hot and long showers: Avoid long and/or very hot showers. Steam can dilate pores and affect healing.
Physical exercise: Avoid workouts or any intense physical activity during the first week, as it may hinder ink retention.
Direct sun exposure: Keep the tattoo protected and avoid direct sun exposure for the first two weeks.
Tight clothing: Wear light and loose fabrics during the first two weeks.
Scratching or picking scabs: Fight the urge, as it can compromise the final result.

Extra Tip
To keep your tattoo looking perfect over the years, moisturize your skin daily and use sunscreen regularly after healing.

• The healing process is key to how your tattoo will look in the end.
• Healing varies from person to person and also depends on the body area.
• While I can’t guarantee perfect healing, as there are many variables outside our control, I always offer a free touch-up session within the first year in case of any issues (like faded lines or spots).
• We’ll get a clearer idea of the final result around 3 weeks after your session.

The studio is located in Anjos, Lisbon, on Palmira street.

We use Dynamic Color Co. (Triple Black)—a vegan, heavy-metal-free ink that is dermatologically tested on humans. It is also suitable for sensitive and atopic-prone skin types.

To date, there are no scientific studies showing risks associated with tattooing during pregnancy or breastfeeding—for either the mother or the baby. Most warnings come from concerns about hygiene or poor studio practices, which can increase infection risk.

At roseprophet, hygiene is a priority. The studio is regularly cleaned, and all materials are sterilized, individually packaged, and only opened in your presence. Miguel’s light and delicate style is also nearly painless, reducing stress on the body.
